Sportsman's Park in St. Louis
These photographs were taken in 1961 and 1962 while I was still in high school. All were taken with our new Retina Reflex S and a 50mm F2.8 Schneider Xenar or a 135 F4 Schneider Tele-Xenar lens. These lenses were of exceptionally high quality even by today's standards. On the other hand, we had multiple problems with the Compur shutter, and had to return the camera at least three or four times to Eastman Kodak for repairs. A variety of films were used for these photos including Kodachrome II, High Speed Ektachrome, and Plus-X. With hindsight, I wish that I had taken many more photos than I did since just a few years later in 1966 the stadium was demolished. I hope that you enjoy these photos. (I recently found six new photographs numbers 41, 9999, 99991, 99992, 99993 and 99994. ) |
